Heat sublimation transfer paper is a kind of coated paper. The inconsistency of the coating layer and the bottom paper in drying and high temperature will cause single-sided warpage. When the transfer paper is warped, the following inconveniences will be caused:

1. The printer is inconvenient to feed sublimation paper. (drying warping at normal temperature)
2. When printing in large quantities in a stack, it is inconvenient to organize due to warpage. (drying warping at normal temperature)
3. Before the thermal transfer, due to the warpage of the transfer paper, the transfer failure is caused by the misalignment with the fabric. (drying warping at normal temperature)
4. Under the thermal transfer ironing board, the warpage of the transfer paper will cause the transfer to be misplaced and the transfer failure. (high temperature warping)
5.The width of paper may, in some point, have a connection with the curling of paper after the printing process, but technically speaking, it affects a little in the real operations.
6.Generally speaking, the thinner the paper, the easier the paper might be curled, and that is why most American users would choose to use low-weight sublimation papers. But thinner paper, like 45gsm, 60gsm can also perform very well with some famous printers, like Epson,Mimaki etc. This depends in deed.
At present, the products produced by various transfer paper mills at home and abroad have different degrees of warpage. The good quality transfer paper has a small warpage angle and slow warping, which can meet the flatness needs and time needs of the printing transfer production process. It is better to operate.

Overcoming warpage is a difficult problem that sublimation transfer paper manufacturers have worked together to overcome. The double-coated method can effectively improve the warpage, but this increases the production cost, and most transfer paper production equipment often does not have such conditions. It can only be improved from the coating formulation and production process.
