A solution for textile sublimation transfer ink foaming in a continuous supply cartridge

When we use the textile sublimation transfer ink for a while, we will find some problems with the ink supply system, such as sudden power failure during printing, missing print colors, ink bubbles, etc. Do you know what causes this? To solve it, the following are the problems and solutions.

1.Fault phenomenon

(1).The continuous sublimation ink supply system has been working for a few months and cannot be printed now.

(2).Many cleaning commands are executed every day before normal printing.
(3).Printed test leads always have unfixed breaks.
(4).The test line is normal at the beginning of printing, but after printing a few pages, the continuous ink supply system is broken.
(5).Printing is always missing a color (usually black)
(6).External cartridge has been in the low position for a long time, now the ink line does not feed ink.
(7).Ink bubbling

2.The solution

The above failure phenomenon is caused by the foaming of the ink in the ink cartridge. After six months of use, the continuous ink supply system gradually accumulates ink from a small amount of tiny air bubbles in the ink and a small amount of air bubbles entering the print cartridge from the print head. The maintenance method is not complicated, and the bubbles are taken out and replaced with normal ink.
Incorrectly lowering the external ink cartridge will also accelerate the formation of the ink chamber foam, even if the continuous ink supply system of the original Epson ink cartridge is used.

It can be seen that the reason for the foaming of the heat transfer sublimation ink in the ink cartridge is related to many factors, so whether we are in daily use or routine maintenance, we must pay attention to regularly clean the ink cartridge and check whether the line is abnormal. Pay attention to the aging of the test line and the neatness of the ink cartridge. If you have any questions, please leave a message below the post.

Inkjet Ink-How to Pick It Correctly When Digital Textile Printing

Do you know how to choose a inkjet ink for your inkjet printer? Here are some ways to help you pick it correctly.

1.Definition of digital textile printing

 Pigment Ink
Pigment Ink
Digital printing is similar to using a printer to print on a piece of paper, but the intended medium is textiles for use in shirts and blankets. Printing with a digital textile machine offers advantages over traditional methods in that new colors and designs can be added to the fabric. Some fabrics are porous and absorb ink, and others are not, so a non-bleeding unit must be added to the digital textile printing unit so that these other fabrics do not bleed after printing. The disadvantages of this type printing are from spot coloring inaccuracy, slower printing times and difficulty in digital setup.
This type of printing is nearly the same as using a regular printer. Most textile printers look like a wide-format poster printer and have a roll of fabric attached to the back. When the operator loads an image into the computer and prints it, the textile printer draws in fabric from the roll and then uses an ink-loaded carrier that moves back and forth to get the ink onto the fabric.

2.How to correctly select ink for inkjet printer

Textile inkjet inks are split into four main categories, each with chemical and physical properties specifically designed to work with the target fabric.
1) Reactive dye-based inks (or reactive inks) are ideal for printing cotton, linen, silk and plant derived fibers such as hemp and jute. Reactive inks have good light fastness as well as typically bright colours. Wash fastness is also good due to the chemical bond created between the dye and the fabric. Readily available and inexpensive pre-treated fabrics are often used when printing with reactive inks, although major manufacturers often do their own pre-treatment.  After printing, these inks need to be post-treated by steaming and washing.
2) Acid dye-based based inks (acid inks) are designed for printing nylon, silk, wool and even leather. They are used to manufacture sportswear, swimwear, lingerie, flags, banners and accessories including ties and scarves. Like reactive inks, acid based inks are also bright but typically have better light fastness. Wash fastness is also good due to the strong bond created between the substrate and dye stuff. Pre-treated fabrics and post-process steaming and washing are also a necessity.
3) Disperse dye-based inks (disperse inks) are used for printing polyester fabrics. They are generally not as bright as acid and reactive inks. When heated to high temperatures the dye becomes gaseous and is absorbed into the polyester fibers. As the dye cools and condenses it gets trapped in the fibers, making fabrics printed with disperse inks highly resistant to laundering.
Disperse inks are typically divided into low and high energy inks. The former (also known as dye sublimation inks) have good light fastness and can be printed onto paper and then transferred to polyester or printed directly on the polyester itself and heated in an oven or transfer press. Due to their excellent light fastness, high energy direct disperse inks are often chosen for the most taxing outdoor applications such as lawn furniture. All high energy disperse inks must be printed direct to fabric and then undergo heat fixation.

4) Pigmented inks use a pigment (insoluble in the ink carrier) rather than a dye (soluble in the ink carrier) to provide coloration. They contain resin binders which help the pigment particles to adhere to the fabric, meaning that the inks can be used across a very wide range of fabric types. However, the inclusion of resin in the composition can limit the amount of pigment possible, as both components raise the ink viscosity. Typically inks with high amounts of colour have low amounts of resin and thus low wash fastness. Conversely, pigment inks with good wash fastness often have higher resin and lower colour intensity. The binder properties and concentration also need to be chosen carefully to avoid affecting the 'feel' of the fabric. Pigment inks typically have very good light fastness and the ability to be used on a wide range of fabrics is a significant advantage. UV curing or heating is sufficient for fixation, and so the inks are simple to use.

We should use the appropriate digital textile ink according to the printed materials , it will print the best images.

Sublimation Ink -Five Ways to Tell You How to Correctly Choose It

How to choose good quality sublimation ink
 Sublimation Ink
Sometimes we often heard a lot of people mentioned to the things of  sublimation inks, some or because the ink plug the nozzle, or the ink quality is not good to lead the print out the effect is not very satisfactory. For the textile sublimation transfer ink selection problems I will share how to correctly select the ink.

1. Reduction rate

High Quality Dye Sublimation Ink for Printing On Polyester
Dye Sublimation Ink
Sublimation ink is mainly through the sublimation of the characteristics of the image will be transferred to the product, so the color reduction rate is more important. The average reduction rate of imported ink can reach 90%, basically after the transfer of thermal transfer paper above the image is close to the white. So the color saturation of the image is very good, and the color is brighter.

2. The size of the thermal transfer consumables ink particles

Large particles of sublimation of ink is likely to cause the phenomenon of printer plug, and the production of the product image is not enough, with a magnifying glass to watch the time to be able to see the grain. In general, the domestic sublimation of ink particles will be larger than the amount of imported digital sublimation transfer ink particles, which led to the printer to read and transfer the image is not enough delicate.

3. Color purity

The problem should be that we often encounter, some poor quality dye sublimation ink black is some red and purple. For the thermal transfer ink, the black ink is the most easy to color, so we can choose the time to play a black color block under the transfer to see if the color after the transfer is not black. This is also the most direct distinction between the advantages of sublimation printing ink important indicators.

4. The price of thermal transfer supplies ink

Thermal transfer supplies ink is divided into three categories, one is made of ink, one is imported ink, one is the domestic production of imported materials. Domestic ink is the domestic production of domestic raw materials, as imports of ink is divided into the United States, South Korea and German. The other is the excellent ink ink company's imports of raw materials, domestic production, import thermal transfer ink in the color reduction rate and saturation and the degree of sophistication are domestic ink can not be compared, the only advantage of domestic thermal sublimation transfer ink is the price comparison Low, able to meet some of the product quality requirements are not very high customers.

From the above four basic tips of select sublimation transfer ink , I hope it can help you to choose a high quality ink.
